If you find it difficult to plan or tend to put off achieving your goals, there is one useful tool. Save it to your wall so you don’t forget!
“Often people do not achieve their goals not because of a lack of ability, courage or intelligence, but because they did not plan to achieve their goal,” says Elbert Hubbard (philanthropist from the USA) . Maybe this is your problem too?
In that case, here is the tool that Dmitry Litvak invented. It helps us to be constant in achieving the goal, and not move towards it in spurts in a fit of enthusiasm from time to time. It is clear that in this case one cannot advance far.
The feeling of urgency and urgency of action very often comes from a deep understanding of the transience of time and its limited quantity, as well as from regular reminders of this. It is known that the brain does not perceive what it cannot understand. Therefore, this tool helps the brain understand the abstract concept of time visually. The point is not to constantly run, showing yourself and everyone around you your desire for success (the squirrel in the wheel also runs), but to do it wisely, with a plan. “He who plans unsuccessfully plans to fail” is another famous saying on this subject.
Therefore, I propose to start from the beginning - timing (time breakdown), drawing up a plan structure and analysis. If you are already doing this, then further information is not for you.
For everyone else who has difficulty making plans and setting goals, the following may be very useful.
So, here's how you can make a Time Spending Pinator or Reminer.
For this you need a pen or pencil, a ruler and a sheet of paper.
1. Making a table
- first line - number of years lived
- the current year needs to be divided into days and months
2. Write a list of your goals (without detailing) about five (so to speak, set the direction of movement for the year). Since the principle of setting SMART goals is already known to everyone, let me just remind you that it is important to avoid negative formulation of goals, vagueness and isolation from reality. Goals can be written on the back side of the piece of paper (if they don’t fit on the main page, some will manage to fit it))
The principle of operation of this “Pinator” is that each square of the day is crossed out in 2 approaches (half in the morning and half in the evening). This calendar should be kept in sight at your workplace.
3. The principle is extremely simple - you spend 10 seconds in the morning and evening sketching a square for each day. You can ask me: is that all? What's the point?
The meaning is very simple - when you do this every day. Your subconscious begins to rebel, forgiving the fact that you are ruining your life with your own hands. A strong connection is formed between what you do with your hands and the days you spent fruitlessly; a completely different connection is formed between you and the day you lived fruitfully.
Some craftsmen make a similar table in Excel to save time, it also works well, but doing it manually is still better. You can still count the days that are productive and those that are not so productive - well, that’s not an acquired taste.
According to the inventor of this “pinator”: “the people who made such a thing could not stand living their old lives for more than a couple of months. Time materializes - after all, with your own hands you cross out every day you live.”
Try to make a sign like this, the results will not take long to arrive.
